The Kindness That Changed Their Lives

Quite a long time ago, after the world was made,

The Inuit lived in darkness, and that’s how it stayed.

Until they heard a foreign notion that changed their daily routine.

From their good friend Crow, who had seen the unseen.

He had seen daylight, and the Inuit disbelieved.

Yet, they wanted light to hunt, to eat, to see!

They begged Crow to get it till he took flight.

Then Crow embarked into the endless night.

His loyalty kept him going even though it was snowing

Soon, the daylight world sent his breath flying.

The glowing sphere of daylight was soon visible

Crow snatched at the ball and became invisible.

The ball fell and escaped its encasement

So great was the Inuit’s amazement!

And now they acknowledge the kindness of Crow

For the light that changed their lives.

The Crow Dropped The Ball of Daylight and It Shattered And Lit Up The Land

The Freedom of the Fairy

There was an ordinary boy and an ordinary girl named Tom and Jane. They had a merry summer holiday; they went to the beach, they went to parties, and best of all they had an adventure I’m sure you’ll want to hear.

Well, one day Tom and Jane went outside to play in the sand. They began digging and playing when Tom spotted a huge chest buried in the ground. He said to his sister to dig it up as she was a better and faster digger than him. Jane started digging and Tom pulled it out. They opened it. Inside there were two boxes, a wooden one and a glass one. They opened the glass box first.

A beautiful fairy was sitting in it. She had a sad look in her blue eyes. They asked, “What happened?’’ She said, “I am a fairy. A goblin has captured me. Everyone in Fairyland tried to free me, but the only way to defeat him is to give him something he can’t do. But he is so powerful that no one could save me. Now he brought me here. Can you help me?’’  They agreed. Tom opened the wooden box. An ugly goblin jumped out. “5 days for each of you to give me something which I can’t do and that is impossible” he said. First Tom tried.

  1. He asked for a singing cat.
  2. He asked for 7 blue and pink elephants.
  3. He asked for a talking dog.
  4. He asked for a real indoor waterfall.

On the last day, he felt defeated. When he remembered that nobody can freeze boiling water!

So he asked for him to turn boiling water into ice.

The goblin couldn’t do it – of course – and let out a cry. “You have defeated me!”  The fairy thanked Tom and said “Now it is Jane’s turn” So Jane asked for the following the next 5 days.

  1. She wished for a real baby mammoth for a pet.
  2. She wished for a singing clock.
  3. She wished for 20 chickens that could swim.
  4. She wished for a doll’s house made of toffee.

Now, Jane had straight hair which curled at the bottom so she cut a piece of it and began straightening it while thinking. She had an idea!

On the 5th day the goblin said, “Your quest now I await!” “Then make this piece of hair quite straight!” said Jane. Well the goblin did everything he could do, but he couldn’t do it. Well, well. The goblin gave a cry and disappeared.

The fairy thanked them and invited them to Fairyland. “Oh, thank you! We would love to come!” they said.Untitled

What adventures will Tom and Jane have? Ah, that is another story altogether!
